The Republic of Russia's principal port on the Arctic Ocean, the world's largest city above the Arctic Circle, with a population of 500,000.

The Murmansk harbor sits on the Kola Peninsula 30 miles from the Barents Sea and is ice-free all year due to the warm waters of the Gulf Stream.

Site of a teachers' institute, merchant marine training academy, a research facility for Arctic fisheries and oceanography, and the base of Russia's northern navy fleet.

This relationship has been dormant with Murmansk since 2017.  All activities have centered around the Russian community members living in Jacksonville who support our Motto of "Peace Through People." No support has been sent to or received from Murmansk since 2017.
